UK Buyers Carry out 2/3 of Property Transactions Involving Non-resident Buyers

The figures were announced by Asta Bridge International, a division of the local real estate agency Address. The UK buyers buy properties in Bulgaria as an investment. In 2006 the UK buyers account for 2/3 of the foreign property buyers who conducted a total of 90,000 property transactions. The driving force behind the deals remains the price. The foreign buyers are interested mainly in studios and one-bedroom apartments in famous mountain or sea resorts. The price is usually within the range of EUR 30,000 and EUR 80,000. The Irish buyers prefer apartments in seaside or mountain resorts where they can spend their vacation. The average budget of an Irish family for this type of property varies from EUR 50,000 to EUR 100,000.In 2006, Irish buyers bought over 11,000 homes in ski and sea resorts in Bulgaria.
